Vestry Meeting Minutes
The joint Meeting of the Vestry and Parochial Church Electors of Ilmer was held in the Church Room on the 28th of April, 1943, at 6, p.m. There were present - the Rev. W. O'Connor, Vicar, in the Chair, Mr. R.H. Attenborough and Mr. W.J. Harper, Churchwardens, Mrs. Attenborough, Mrs. J. Brown, Mrs. Cobb, Mr. Southey.
After the opening Prayer the Minutes of the Meeting of the 8th of April, 1942, were read and signed. Mr. Attenborough was nominated by the Vicar as his Churchwarden; Mr. Harper was elected People's Churchwarden.
Mr. Harper presented the Financial Account for the year ending on the 31st of December, 1942, as follows:- Income - Balance in hand, 1st January, £1-1-5; Parochial Collections, £19-5-11; Non-parochial do., £13-13-9; Contributed by Mothers' Union, 4s. Total, £34-5-1. Expenditure. - Non-parochial collections, £13-13-9; Rates, 12s. 9d; Electric Light, £1-14-0; Coal, £2-12-6; Insurance of Window, 5s; Wine, 5s. 6d; Wafers, 3s. 11d; War Damage Insurance, 3s. 6d; Lighting Fires, £1: Organist, £3; Clerk, £3. Balance in hand, £7-14-2. Total, £34-5-1. Passed unanimously.
Mrs. Attenborough reported that she had borrowed six chairs from the Church Room for the sick bay in Ilmer House. Approved. Mr. Attenborough reported that he had allowed seven soldiers to sleep in the Church Room for one night. Approved.
The Meeting closed with Prayer.
