MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, 14th JULY 1975 AT LONGWICK C.E. COMBINED SCHOOL

PRESENT: Councillor W.G. Underwood (Chairman), Councillors D. Brock, T.G.T. Taylor and J. Walker.

APOLOGIES: Apologies for absence were received from Councillors L.E. Metcalfe, H.C. Restall, B.E. Thomas and Miss J.H.C. Couper.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting held on Monday, 9th June, 1975 had been circulated. These were agreed and signed.

MATTERS ARISING: (a) Bridleway, Manor Farm, Ilmer. Mr. Underwood reported that the reinstatement of the bridleway had not been completed. It was agreed to write again to Eton College pressing for the complete reinstatement of this bridleway.

(b) Bus Stop-Sportsmans Garage. This bus stop had now been re-erected.

(c) Traffic experiment - Lorry Management Scheme. A brief report had been obtained from the County Engineer's office giving the most significant statistics obtained from the 'before' and 'after' surveys taken for the above scheme. This report was passed round at the meeting.

(d) Potholes - Meadle/Ford road. Following application to the Highways Department these potholes were being attended to.

(e) Petrol sign - Mill Lane. No action had been taken as the sign in question had been removed.

(f) Refuse bins in lay-bys. These refuse bins had been emptied.

PLANNING APPLICATIONS: Only one planning application had been received:

W/1595/75 - Extension to dwelling at 2 The Green, Ilmer. The following comments had been offered:

"This property was originally part of the nursery and consequently was an agricultural cottage. The position of agricultural restrictions and covenants ought to be explored. Subject to that we have no objection in principle although we would offer the following detailed comments:

1. The brickwork and general style should be in keeping and character with that of the hamlet of Ilmer. 2. Such details as windows, roof gables, etc. should be identical to the semi-detached property, including the colour of brickwork, etc. 3. That the drainage should be adequate. There is evidence that there is some overflow from the septic tanks of some of the properties in Ilmer. This may be one. 4. One important point is that with this application the two cottages would not be balanced in outlook.

C.P.R.E. There had been no further meetings of the C.P.R.E. since the last Parish Council meeting.
