Parish Council Minutes

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, 9TH JUNE, 1975 AT LONGWICK C.E. COMBINED SCHOOL

present: Councillors D. Brock, L.E. Metcalfe, H.C. Restall, T.G.T. Taylor, B.E. Thomas, W.G. Underwood and J. Walker. Miss J.H.C. Couper was also present.

Minutes: The Minutes of the meeting held on Monday, 21st April, 1975 were read, agreed and signed.

Matters arising from the Minutes: (a) Bridleway, Manor Farm, Ilmer. It was reported that the Tenant farmer was reinstating this bridleway. Mr. Underwood undertook to report further at the next meeting.

(b) Bus Stop, Sportsmans Garage. The Bus Company had agreed to repair this bus stop as soon as they had the necessary materials. Mr. Restall pointed out that the old bus stop was lying in the ditch and it was agreed to pass this information on to the bus company.

Election of Chairman. It was proposed and seconded that Mr. W.G. Underwood be elected Chairman for the forthcoming year. This was agreed.

Mr. Underwood extended the thanks of the Council to Mr. Walker for carrying out the duties of Chairman for the last four years.

Election of Vice-Chairman: It was proposed and seconded that Mr. J. Walker be elected Vice-Chairman for the forthcoming year. This was agreed.

Matters arising from the Annual Meeting: Royco Estate. It was reported that Royco were responsible for attending to the landscaped areas on the sawmills estate. The Clerk had been in touch with Royco who had agreed to carry out the grass cutting as soon as possible.

Planning Applications: The following planning applications had been received since the date of the last meeting:

W/1069/75 Conversion of house to two flats at Elms, Thame Road, W/1214/75 Extension to kitchen and lounge at Kinder Lodge, Horsenden. W/1369/75 1st storey extension to Seagrams, Chestnut Way, to form additional bedroom. W/1357/75 Stationing of caravan for caretakers, Laurels Farm. With regard to this application the Council felt that the case for a caravan had not been made clear and was certainly not justified. W/1426/75 Commercial advertisement on Railway Bridge spanning the B.4009 between Pitch Green and Longwick. The Council felt that there were enough distractions for motorists and on such a busy road such an advertisement could have serious consequences. It would also create a precedent they would not like started in a rural area.

C.P.R.E. Mr. Taylor reported he had attended a further meeting of the C.P.R.E. There had been nothing on the agenda having a direct effect on this Parish. The C.P.R.E. were most anxious to co-operate with Parish Councils, particularly on the question of undesirable planning applications.
