Ilmer Parish Meeting Minutes

The Annual Parish Meeting was held at the Parish Room, Illmire, on Thursday March 3rd 1927 at 7 pm.

To appoint a Chairman for the ensuing year.
To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting.
To nominate two men liable and qualified to serve the Office of Parish Constables for the ensuing year.
To pass accounts.
To consider the question of a Secretary to the Parish Meeting.
Any other business.

Present:- Messrs Albert Goodchild (Chairman) Fritz Wm Kingham and Robert Bailey (Assistant Overseer).

Mr Albert Goodchild was re-appointed Chairman for the ensuing year.

Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.

The outgoing Parish Constables were re-nominated, namely Messrs Fritz William Kingham and Harry Goodchild.

Proposed by Mr Albert Goodchild seconded by Mr Fritz Wm Kingham that the accounts of the Parish Meeting for the past year be passed as correct:- Cheques 1/-. Robert Bailey Rates ½ year ending Sept 30th 1926 £1/13/10. Amy Williams 2nd Instalment Sch A Tax 1925/6 10/6. George Gomme New Oak Foot Bridge £2/3/0. Messrs Parrott & Coales Fire Insurance 15/-. Mrs Amy Williams 1st Instalment Sch A. Tax 1926/7 10/6. Robert Bailey Rates ½ year ending March 31st 1927. £1/13/7. Robert Bailey Audit Stamp 1925/6 5/-. Carried

A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Robert Bailey for acting as Secretary to the Parish Meeting, collecting Cottage Rents and attending Audit during the past nine years.

Proposed by Mr. A. Goodchild seconded by Mr Fritz Wm Kingham that Mr Robert Bailey be appointed to act as Clerk to the Parish Meeting, that he be authorised to collect the Cottage Rents, keep the accounts of the Parish Meeting and to assist the Parish Meeting generally, and that he be allowed the sum of One Guinea per Annum for so doing. Carried

The question of repairs to the Parish Cottages was considered.

Proposed by Mr. Albert Goodchild seconded by Mr Fritz Wm Kingham that the Secretary be authorised to have the Cottages made water tight, the cost of same not to exceed Seven pounds, and that the Tenants be notified of the actual financial position of the outgoings etc in connection with the Cottages. Carried

The Secretary was asked to call the attention of the Wycombe Rural District Council to the bad state of the road from the Church to Close End Cottages, also a portion of the road by Mr Richard Davis Cottage, also to ask for the drain under the road near the Pond to be unblocked and the open gutters at the sides of the road leading into the ditches on each side to be piped near the road and covered in, to allow two vehicles to pass in safety.
