MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 16th APRIL 2024 AT 7PM

1. INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME BY THE VICE CHAIRMAN

Apologies were received from Cllr McPherson (Chairman). Cllr Myers chaired the meeting in Cllr McPhersons absence and welcomed all to the meeting.

2. APPROVAL OF ANNUAL PARISH MEETING MINUTES HELD 18TH APRIL 2023

Approved.

3. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT 2024

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances and in the absence of Cllr McPherson the Chairmans report will be issued in the next few weeks and published on the Parish Council website and Facebook.

4. BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUNCIL REPORT FROM THE RISBOROUGH WARD COUNCILLORS

a. A prime concern has been supporting the Parish Council on progressing the Traffic Speed Reduction Scheme.

b. We have supported residents with the noise from the dog kennels over last 18-24 months. The courts decided in favour of residents with noise abatement notice and it seems the situation has improved. A planning application has been submitted for the site with the currents owners believed to be relocating.

c. We have worked with businesses at a business networking event about how we can work together which was really positive.

d. Over £300k has been given through the Community Boards over the last 4 years and we encourage local groups and organisations to apply.

e. Highways: Bar Lane was damaged during resurfacing and we are continuing to ensure it is put back.

f. The Lower Icknield Way from the bridge to Oxfordshire is being repaired overnight. The current patchwork will be covered in a chipping / tarmac surface.

g. Canvas signs on scaffolding. Enforcement have agreed that it is advertising illegally and must come down.

h. Dealing with resident's issues and concerns. The Risborough Ward Councillors can be contacted directly via email or telephone.

5. OPEN FORUM – RESIDENTS RAISED THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS / CONCERNS

a. Concerned that the newsletter has ceased and understands that there are residents within the Parish who are willing to take on the job. It was suggested that the group who would like to take on the newsletter apply to the Parish Council for a grant.

b. Concerned about the relationship between the Village Hall and Parish Council specifically the charging for the use of the playing field for the fete.

c. Average Speed Cameras – the information has been received from Thames Valley Police however, other villages have them and stated that they are disappointed that there is no drive from Thames Valley Police.

d. Community Speedwatch – residents asked about the group and requested data be shared.

e. Transport Initiative: When can we expect to see some progress. Buckinghamshire Councillors stated that they would expect costings to be supplied to the Parish Council by the end of Summer.

Buckinghamshire Councillors left the meeting 7.33pm.

Cllr Myers thanked everybody for attending and the meeting was closed at 7.42pm.
