LONGWICK-cum-ILMER PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD 17th APRIL 2012

Present: Councillors Mr G Harper, Mr B Richards, Mrs J Rogers, Mr G Walters, Mr I Walker, Mrs V McPherson and Mr G O'Neill,

Clerk Ms S Griffiths.

1 INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME

Cllr Harper welcomed everyone and introduced the Parish Councillors and the Clerk.

2 REPORT FROM THE POLICE

Sgt Deane and WPC M Logan reported that there had been 96 crimes in the parish during the last year. These included 25 vehicle and house burglary and 26 theft of petrol form the garage.

A new non emergency number 101 is in use now for residents to ring and report crime that does not require an immediate response.

3 CHAIRMAN'S REPORT

Cllr Harper reported that at the Annual General Meeting of the Parish Council last May, George O'Neill was elected as Vice Chairman.

During the year Cllr Pamela Priestley retired as a councillor. He was very pleased to welcome Brian Richards to the council.

It was agreed by the Parish Council to update the website on an annual basis in May with the contact details of the different organisations. Please let the Clerk know about any changes to your contact details.

Cllr G Harper finished his report by saying that he hoped the residents of the Parish had approved of the expenditure of the Parish Council and that the Councillors welcome any feedback.

Cllr G Harper thanked the other Parish Councillors for their help and support during the past year.

Cllr Rogers thanked Mr Harper not only for his excellent leadership as Chairman but also for his hard work behind the scenes, quietly making repairs around the parish and saving the Parish Council the expense of having to employ someone.

4 PARISH ACCOUNTS AND PRECEPT

Mrs S Griffiths distributed copies of the summary of income and expenditure for the year ended 31st March 2011 and the balance sheet as at 31st March 2011.

There being no further questions, the meeting closed at 7.55pm.
