Ilmer Parish Meeting Minutes
The Annual Parish Meeting was held at the Parish Room, Illmire on Friday February 29th 1924 at 7 pm.
To appoint a Chairman for the ensuing year.
To read and confirm Minutes of last meeting.
To appoint Two Overseers of the Poor for the ensuing year.
To nominate Two Men liable and qualified to serve the office of Parish Constables for the ensuing year.
To pass accounts of Parish Meeting.
Present, The Revd W. M Tuke, Messrs Fritz Wm Kingham, Wm Claydon, Geo Gomme and Robert Bailey (Assistant Overseer)
Pro by Mr. Fritz Wm Kingham seconded by Mr Geo Gomme that the Revd Wm M. Tuke be appointed Chairman for the ensuing year. Carried
Pro by Mr. George Gomme seconded by Revd Wm M Tuke that the out going Overseers be re-appointed for the ensuing year.
A communication was received from Mr. Albert Goodchild of Illmire Farm, together with a Plan of the proposed diversion of a Footpath leading from Bledlow to St Peters Church and the village of Illmire, stating that the Wycombe Rural District Council had consented to the diversion and also asking for the Parish Meeting to approve of same. After giving the matter due consideration, The Revd Wm M Tuke proposed and Mr. Fritz Wm Kingham seconded "That the wish and proposal of Mr Albert Goodchild, the Owner of land in the Parish of Illmire in the County of Buckingham now submitted to this meeting, that a certain public footpath or highway situated in the said Parish should be diverted, turned and stopped up as shown on the plan now produced to this meeting and that in lieu thereof a certain new public footpath or highway also shown on the said plan should be made, be agreed to. Carried
The above resolution to be confirmed at a Parish Meeting to be held at Illmire on May 10th at 6.30 pm.
The question of the necessity for cleaning out the ditch by the side of the road leading to Cold Harbour Farm was discussed and it was proposed by Mr. Kingham seconded by Mr. John Saul that the sum of One pound be allowed Mr. George Gomme to have the necessary work carried into effect. Carried.
Proposed by Mr. Fritz Wm Kingham seconded by Mr. Thomas Goodchild that the Assistant Overseer be authorised to have the Well Cover at the Parish Cottages renewed and put in good order. Carried.
The Assistant Overseer was asked to write to the Rural District Surveyor stating that this meeting considers that the Pond at Illmire is dangerous and urge the District Council to take such steps regarding the same as may be necessary. They also again ask the District Surveyor to give his attention to the unsatisfactory state of the Illmire Road.
