Ilmer Parish Meeting Minutes
1918. A Parish Meeting was held in the Parish Room, Illmire, on [blank]
There were present - the Rev. W. O'Connor (in the chair), Messrs. Thomas Goodchild, Albert Goodchild, George Gomme, Fritz Kingham,
The Rev. W. O'Connor was elected Chairman for the ensuing year.
Proposed by Mr. Albert Goodchild, seconded by Mr. George Gomme, that Messrs. F. Kingham and T. Goodchild be appointed Parish Constables for the ensuing year. Passed nem. con.
On the motion of Mr. T. Goodchild, seconded by Mr. G. Gomme, the Rev. W. O'Connor and Mr. A. Goodchild were appointed Overseers for the ensuing year.
Proposed by Mr. A. Goodchild, seconded by Mr. T. Goodchild, that the Overseers be requested to repair or renew the three bridges, (1) in the footpath from Ilmer to Long Wick and Bledlow; (2) and (3) at Cold Harbour in the footpath leading to Towersey; and that Mr. G. Gomme be requested to furnish an estimate to the Overseers. This proposal was agreed to.
Proposed by Mr. A. Goodchild, seconded by Mr. T. Goodchild, that the Overseers be requested to have the lid of the well at the Parish Cottages, Close End, repaired or renewed; also to have the closets at same cottages tarred; and that Mr. G. Gomme be requested to furnish an estimate for these undertakings. Passed.
Proposed by Mr. G. Gomme, seconded by Mr. Thomas Goodchild, that in view of enhanced railway fares, the payments to Overseers for travelling be raised from five shillings to 7 shillings and 6d. per journey. Agreed.
